Workshop at Judicial Roundtable in Shanghai
On 10 and 11 December 2018, P.R.I.M.E. Finance experts undertook a capacity-building workshop at a Judicial Roundtable organised by the Law Faculty of Hong Kong University and the Shanghai University of Political Science and Law. Rick Grove and Jonathan Ross participated in the Roundtable on behalf of, and under the auspices of, the International Bar Association (IBA) and P.R.I.M.E. Finance Foundation, as a further step as part of their joint initiative in the region to promote a more sophisticated understanding of, and the better resolution of disputes arising out of, derivatives and complex financial transactions. P.R.I.M.E. Finance conducted a two-hour workshop at the end of the first day. The presentation provided a brief introduction to derivatives, derivatives concepts and documentation, and to lessons learned in other jurisdictions as a result of cases that have arise since the collapse of Lehman Brothers and the Global Financial Crisis. The workshop was a success and both IBA and P.R.I.M.E. Finance received due and welcome recognition.
