Victor de Serière specialises in regulatory work and banking and financial transactions, including securitisation transactions, covered bond transactions, and structured transactions designed to provide funding to financial institutions and corporates. He counts inter alia the large Dutch banks and Dutch insurance companies among his clients, and he regularly advises the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands on financial transactions and regulatory issues. He regularly issues Dutch law legal opinions on derivatives transactions. He is Professor of Securities Law at Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, and he writes and speaks frequently about legal issues arising in the financial markets. He is a member of the Institute for Financial Law, a Nijmegen university think tank on financial legal issues. He is also a member of the Gecombineerde Commissie Vennootschapsrecht that provides advice to the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Finance and Parliament on new legislation on corporate and financial issues. Victor is a member of the supervisory board of two Dutch financial institutions, and sits on the board of a number of non profit foundations supporting the arts.
