Senior Vice President at Frontclear and Co-chair ISDA Latin America Committee
Romina is Co-chair of the ISDA Latin America Committee. She is Senior Vice President Global Legal Counsel and Structuring Latin America at Frontclear. She has over 25 years of capital markets and investment banking experience on both the legal and business side. Prior to joining Frontclear, she was Managing Director Relationship Management for Latin America at Scotiabank, she worked for Sidley and Brown & Wood in New York and for Bruchou, Fernandez Madero & Lombardi in Buenos Aires. She holds a law degree with honors from the University of Buenos Aires with a specialty on Business & Economic Law. She is fluent in Spanish, English and French. Amongst her recent speaking engagements, she was a panelist on financial inclusion in the context of Women´s Forum Mexico in 2017 and on developing and trading in local capital markets at the 33rd ISDA AGM in Miami in 2018, at the Regulators Roundtable on Money Markets and Derivatives in Costa Rica organized by Frontclear, at the CABEI Regional Seminar on Risk Management for the Public Sector in 2019 and at the 36th ISDA AGM in Madrid in 2022. She has contributed to the drafting of the netting legislation, OTC derivatives regulation and local derivatives agreements for several countries in the region.
Romina has also championed the cause of diversity and inclusion. She was appointed D&I Champion of Change by the bank for her work in Latam. She is Co-Chair of the GBM D&I Latam Steering Committee. She is co-founder and board member of AbogadasMX, an NGO dedicated to the advancement of women lawyers. Romina was named as one of the most influential female lawyers in Mexico by Foro Jurídico magazine in 2018 and was appointed to join the P.R.I.M.E Finance Expert panel by the P.R.I.M.E. Foundation in The Hague in 2019.
