Raymond is a barrister of more than 40 years’ experience of litigation and arbitration in the UK and other jurisdictions. 

Raymond has a particular interest in blockchain and AI disputes. He has experience of disputes involving derivatives, LIBOR, notes and bonds, structured finance, clearing and settlement, payments including FX, documentary credits, Islamic finance and fraud among others. Much of this experience involves disputes relating to jurisdiction and conflicts of law.

Raymond has published extensively including as editor Law of Bank Payments (Brindle and Cox eds) and as contributor to International Financial Disputes: Arbitration and Mediation (Golden and Lamm eds.) and Law and Practice of Commercial Litigation in Singapore (Kannan and Tan eds). 

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and sits as arbitrator. He is also a member of the Financial Markets Law Committee in London which reports on areas of uncertainty in the law relating to wholesale markets in the UK. 

Raymond graduated from Oxford University and joined Fountain Court Chambers, London in 1983 and became leading counsel in 2002.
