Patrick is admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria, Australia as a Barrister and Solicitor and has extensive experience of both transactional and advisory work in the banking and finance sector. He started his career as a legal adviser at Bankers Trust and Deutsche Bank in London before moving in-house with global law firms in London, Tokyo and Melbourne. He is currently Senior Partner of HBS LAW, a law firm registered with the Bar Association in Cambodia where he is now based.

Patrick has advised global investment banks, commercial banks, IFIs, microfinance institutions, securities companies, insurance companies and other multi-national corporations on a broad range of matters including project finance, bilateral and syndicated loans, debt capital markets, equity capital markets, structured finance, OTC derivatives, fintech, trade finance, securitization, M&A, financial leasing, insurance, and private equity.

In addition, Patrick has substantial experience of dispute resolution and advocacy in the financial services and other sectors for both private clients and for governments.

Patrick is often invited to provide seminars on various aspects of finance and has lectured at the Royal University of Law and Economics on bank regulation to its Master of Laws students. He is also regularly involved in providing technical assistance to the government on legal reforms required in Cambodia.
