Jayesh is a Chartered Financial Analyst, Advocate & Solicitor. Has been recognised as the pre-eminent practitioner in India for structured finance, derivatives, restructurings & enforcement actions. He has extensive transactional experience in private equity transactions, M&As, leveraged buy-outs, acquisition financings, sponsor financings & securitisations. Post the Global Financial Crisis, made a name for himself in handling complex financial disputes & enforcement actions.
He has been a member of key committees & working groups constituted by the Indian Ministry of Finance & directly worked on drafting/amending legislation & regulatory frameworks relating to financial services in India. Jayesh has often collaborated with regulators & global associations such as Reserve Bank of India, International Swaps & Derivatives Association (‘ISDA’), Asia Securities Industry & Financial Markets Association (‘ASIFMA’) & International Capital Market Association (‘ICMA’). He is currently focusing on E-Contracting, Fintech & Online Dispute Resolution.
As a Chevening Scholar, Jayesh gained experience in English & European Community laws & regulations by undergoing training at the College of Law in York & worked briefly with a London-based firm of solicitors in their corporate finance department.
Prior to his legal career, Jayesh was a part-time qualitative market researcher. He is a member of Mensa.
