Fred Pucci is Lecturer, University of Sydney Law School, and Researcher in Monetary Law at various leading Universities in Australia. 

Mr Pucci served from 2018 to 2023 as General Counsel of Sonic Labs, a global blockchain technology foundation since its formation, and as General Counsel of Trovio Group, a blockchain technology group headquartered in Singapore.

Mr Pucci led the Global Compliance function for ANZ Markets, based in Hong Kong, from 2010 to 2017. He led transformative conduct programs and ANZ’s swap dealer compliance.

Previously a fixed income investment banker at Nomura in Sydney, Mr. Pucci was made Partner at Ashurst, the global law firm, advising on derivatives and asset backed securities.

At Ashurst he advised Qantas on 144A bond issues, Macquarie Group on the acquisition of Sydney Airport and associated bond refinancings, and JP Morgan on cross-currency swaps for landmark USD MBS issuances by Australian mortgage originators including PUMA. 

He appeared often in Euromoney Lists and Chambers Global Guide to the World’s Leading Lawyers and was appointed to the Financial Services Law Committee, Law Council of Australia.

He served as Head of Legal, Trading Division, at the Australian Stock Exchange, and as Head of Legal & Policy, Market Supervision, Australian Securities and Investments Commission. 

He has enjoyed a unique career spanning 30 years, in which he has combined a fascination with financial markets trading with a passion for black letter law in banking and derivatives. 

Mr. Pucci graduated from Georgetown University Law Center with a Masters of Laws and from the University of Sydney with degrees in Economics and Law.
