Dr. Schick is the founder and Managing Director of Schick & Associates LLC, a foreign law firm licensed in Singapore. Dr. Schick has acted as an arbitrator – as presiding arbitrator, co-arbitrator, sole arbitrator, and emergency arbitrator – in numerous international arbitrations. His practice also encompasses other forms of dispute resolution, insolvency and restructuring, and transactional work.
After practicing in New York and Hong Kong, Dr. Schick has practiced in Singapore since 2001. He has represented governmental entities and private corporations from around the world in a variety of sectors, including aviation, banking, consumer products, oil and gas, insurance, media, mining, pharmaceuticals, power generation, pulp and paper and telecommunications. Among many other roles in complex disputes and transactions, he acted as Special Counsel for the Trustee for the Liquidation of Lehman Brothers Inc. and for the National Power Corporation of the Philippines in a dispute with Lehman Brothers Special Financing Inc. over the close-out amount due in a principal-only forward currency swap under the 2002 ISDA Master Agreement.
Dr. Schick is a Founding Member of the International Insolvency Institute, a Member of the Asia Pacific Users’ Council of the London Court of International Arbitration and a Member of the BVI Arbitration Group.

Dr. Schick is a Registered Foreign Lawyer in Singapore and is admitted to practice in the State of New York and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Dr. Schick received a J.D. from Columbia Law School and a Ph.D. and M.A. from Harvard University. Prior to practicing law, Dr. Schick taught at Harvard University and was a Fellow at the Joint Center for Urban Studies of M.I.T. and Harvard University. As an attorney, before founding Schick & Associates LLC, Dr. Schick worked at the law firm of Shearman & Sterling, leading its Asian restructuring practice, and at Dewey Ballantine, Duane Morris and Hughes Hubbard & Reed.
