Mr. Tsuyoshi Hase is Standing Auditor at the Radioactive Waste Management Funding and Research Center. He is the former President of Japan Investor Relations and Investor Support, Inc. (J-IRIS). J-IRIS is a consulting firm associated with Mizuho Financial Group, specializing in investor relations service such as providing shareholder identification surveys , analysis and tracking of securities ownership of publicly listed companies and other full range of high-level consultancy services.

Mr. Hase joined the Industrial Bank of Japan (IBJ) in1978 and later worked as a FX and bond trader in the International Treasury Department. He was transferred to New York as a Manager of the Treasury Department in 1987 being responsible for derivatives portfolio management. After he relocated to Tokyo, Mr. Hase went on to become a Senior Manager of the Treasury Department with responsibility for overseeing Yen denominated derivatives portfolio and subsequently moved to the Derivatives and Fixed Income Department in charge of sales and trading activities in 1996. Then, he served as a Managing Director of IBJ Nomura Financial Products plc, a derivatives trading house, as a joint venture established by the IBJ, Ltd. and Nomura Securities from its foundation for two years.

Mr. Hase became a Joint General Manager of the International Treasury Department at IBJ in 2001. Following the merger with Fuji Bank and Daiichi Kangyo Bank, he served as a General Manager of Market Business Planning & ALM Division of Mizuho Bank Ltd., overseeing treasury activities of the Bank until 2005. Then, he became a General Manager of Portfolio Management Division at Mizuho Corporate Bank Ltd., and managed credit portfolio of the Bank. In 2007, he was elected as an Executive Officer of the Bank. Prior to current job, he was a Managing Director at Mizuho-DL Financial Technology Co., Ltd. where he was responsible for strategic planning as well as overall management of the firm.

Mr. Hase was a member of the Board of Directors of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc. (ISDA) from 1990 to 1992 and from 1996 to 1998. He was also a member of a Working Group of derivatives project conducted by the Group of Thirty from 1992 to 1993.

Mr. Hase published several articles in various financial periodicals in Japan.

Mr. Hase received his B.A. in Law from the Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo and his M.B.A. from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
