Career

Sarra has devoted her career of over 35 years to dispute resolution of all types in her areas of expertise, firstly for 20 years at Clifford Chance, London and until recently, for over 7 years as Managing Director & Head of the Europe, Middle East & Africa Commodities Legal team at JPMorgan where she sat on various Management Committees (Derivatives and Commodities).

Expertise

Within her areas of expertise, Sarra has conducted literally thousands of disputes as a practitioner, arbitrator under the rules of various institutions, such as LCIA, ICC, LMAA, SCC and LME, and mediator.

Her experience of commercial disputes spans many subject-matters including a very wide range of banking, derivatives and structured products; energy contracts (including E&P); technology in relation to e-trading and financial services; M&A (including book acquisitions); regulation (including competition), shipping and the whole spectrum of commodities (particularly oil and metals).

Academic Qualifications

Sarra has law degrees from University College London and Queens’ College Cambridge. She is a qualified Solicitor of the English High Court.

Charities

Sarra supports a range of charities, particularly connected to children. She is Chair of the Arbitration & Mediation Committees of the Commercial Litigators Forum, raising funds for the (UK) National Pro Bono Centre.
