Lady Arden is a former Justice of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom and of the Court of Appeal of England and Wales. She is also a former Chair of the Law Commission of England and Wales and the former Head of International Judicial Relations for England and Wales. Lady Arden is a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration and of the UK National Group responsible for nominating candidates for appointment to the ICJ. Prior to appointment as a judge, she practised at the Bar and was appointed a Queen’s Counsel. Lady Arden has lectured and written widely on legal subjects particularly UK company and commercial law. She is a member of a panel of ad hoc Judges of the European Court of Human Rights. She is a Yorke Fellow of the Law Faculty of the University of Cambridge. Lady Arden is a graduate of Cambridge and Harvard, and a member of the American Law Institute.
